Zeal is a comprehensive grace that invigorates the whole Christian life and it is kindled as we meditate on the excellence and redeeming love of Christ.

Ministers must rely upon God and seek him for wisdom, which in part will include understanding which errors to refute and which truths to emphasize.

Pastors must cultivate the habit of getting alone to study the Scriptures, and then secondarily to read good books that will stir their own hearts with truth and strengthen them in ministry.
